My main research is in the history of philosophy and philosophy of religion, with a burgeoning research interest in political philosophy, particularly in questions regarding legitimate coercion. My current research revolves around three questions: the extent to which inquiry in philosophy of religion is influenced by conceptualisations of God, the utility of questioning inherited beliefs, and whether laws that privilege a particular culture's values can be just.

I have a strong interest in the work of Iris Murdoch and some of my current research is conducted in conversation with her.
