I graduated in Philosophy from Newcastle University back in 1987 but took my Wittgenstein rather to seriously and returned to South Cumbria to work on the family dairy farm until my retirement in 2013. In the late 1980s I helped run a Philosophy Group in Kendal which was funded by the Centre For Continuing Education at Newcastle upon Tyne and for three of those years I taught Philosophy at AE level in Kendal. I always harboured ambitions to pursue my interest in the subject at the post graduate level but the rest of my life got in the way until I finally completed a part time, distance learning MA in the Philosophy of Mental Health at UCLAN in 2013. I hoped to build further on that period of study, but once again the rest of my life had other ideas when my wife was diagnosed with ovarian cancer back in 2016. I still live in hope that we will get there one day.
